Application & Admission
Before applying, please carefully review the admission requirements and characteristics of this programme as outlined in the Study Programme section.
While this programme is open to all students who meet the admission criteria, it is specifically designed for students from the Middle East. As a result, we expect that most participants will come from this region.

To be eligible for the Master’s programme in European Studies, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Bachelor’s degree: Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree (above average or “with distinction”) in social sciences, law, economics, history, or cultural studies.
- Minimum study duration: Before starting the one-year Master’s programme, applicants must have completed four years of university studies, as a German Master’s degree requires at least five years of higher education. These four years must be part of the standard period of study for the respective degree.

- English language proficiency: A good command of English is required
- German language skills: German language skills are not an entry requirement but are recommended as they will help you navigate academic and daily life in Germany.
The application process begins in summer, with a submission deadline of 15 July.
