Study Programme
Information for Prospective Students
Before applying, please carefully review the admission requirements and characteristics of this programme.
While this programme is open to all students who meet the admission criteria, it is specifically designed for students from the Middle East. As a result, we expect that the majority of our participants will come from this region.
Programme Structure & Content
The study programme consists of the following:
- Eight Master’s courses: Students present and discuss current research primarily the political but also the social, economic, legal, and historical dimensions of EU governance (Module 1) and European societal integration (Module 2).
- Oral and written examinations: Assessing learning goals from courses in Module 1 and Module 2 respectively.
- The weekly Master Forum: A regular meeting for all students in the programme to enhance methodological skills, receive feedback on team research projects and Master’s theses, and coordinate and evaluate the study experience.
- Team research project: In the first semester, groups of three to four students conduct a research project, supported by the weekly Master Forum.
- Master’s thesis: An independent research paper written during the second semester, focusing on a topic related to the politics of EU governance and European societal integration based on academic literature and research methodology.
- Excursions: Visits to European institutions and key locations across Europe provide students with firsthand encounters with European political actors and the operational routines within EU institutions.
